Providing restorative counseling & therapy and caring for the needs of others.
We all want to be happy. You may have tried therapy in the past, yet still can’t seem to find happiness. Therapy isn’t easy work, but overcoming your challenges and becoming a healthier and better you is possible.
Whatever your goals for therapy - mental health, a sense of connection, spiritual fulfillment, trauma resolution, or grief recovery - you can achieve them. I care deeply about you and truly believe in your ability to change and have a rich, full, and meaningful life.
I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from Baylor University, and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Houston. My post graduate studies are in theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Dallas Theological Seminary. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and am certified as a supervisor and supervisor trainer with the State of Texas. I also teach psychotherapy practice courses at the UH Graduate School of Social Work.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed expertise with many populations, issues, and treatment approaches. My specialty is helping adults and adolescents with an emphasis in psychological flexibility and mindfulness. I believe in therapy centered around value-guided, committed action and biblical principles.
I have been married to my lovely wife Lotus for 36 years, and have a daughter, three wonderful grandchildren, and 2 dogs. In my off hours you will most likely find me on my motorcycle, enjoying time with friends, or reading a good book.
I understand that my abilities as a counselor are gifts from God as part of my calling to bring restoration to the hurting. I ground my work in Biblical principles, and it is my distinct pleasure to work with those that God leads to my office.
My goal in therapy is to meet your needs and get to the heart of the matter. I use a variety of approaches to help you have the life you want.
Individual & family therapy, I do not do couples therapy.
In person & remote sessions in 60 or 90 minute options.
I prefer to counsel people from ages 13-65.
I find joy in counseling brothers & sisters of faith.

Brent LoCaste-Wilken is the most amazing counselor I have had the privilege of collaborating with throughout my career. He provides professional and compassionate care for every client he works with. His expertise branch out in many areas. His effective skills both in the science and art of counseling have made a significant difference in the lives of couples and individuals for which we have collaborated on throughout the years... It is a huge honorand privilege to recommend Brent.
Brent has been working with my 15-year-old son for about 2 to 3 years, usually once a week. To say that Brent has made a difference in my son’s life is not a strong enough statement. When Brent told my son he thought Jackson could stop seeing Brent, my son said “absolutely not” that he needed to always go see Brent.
When he has trouble he won’t talk to me, he always says “I will talk to Brent about it mom”. I have no idea what we would do without him!
Brent helped me navigate the most challenging times of my life with understanding, compassion, and knowledge. Thanks to the work we’ve done, I feel better equipped to manage the challenging times in my life going forward. Thank you
Client, Male, age 50
After many false starts with therapists, I was fortunate enough to come across Brent and everyone around me has noticed and improved quality of life. Not only a wealth of information but Brent combines compassion with a straight to the point style. I’ve never felt judged, but I have felt his sincerity in wanting to help.
Brent has really helped me a lot. He is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He is helping me take my life in a better direction.
My work with Brent was a significant growth opportunity for me. His knowledge and experience helped me learn and develop truly effective coping to be more fully engage in my own life. Today I am more present in my life, relationships, and work in meaningful, fulfilling and valuable ways. I am grateful to have been able to work with Brent and would encourage anyone seeking to become less stuck and grow more present and aware in their lives to work with him.
I was skeptical of therapy before meeting Brent. Truly a man called to his profession.
